The ICC ODI Championship is an international competition run by the International Cricket Council in the sport of cricket. It currently involves the 10 nations that play Test cricket; Kenya, a non-Test country with full One Day International (ODI) status; and most recently Ireland, which qualified for the main ODI Table following their second victory over a Test playing nation in the ICC World Cup on 16 April 2007.
Starting in 2009, the number of teams on the main ODI Table will be set to 16, with the 10 current Test nations joined by the top six finishers in the ICC World Cup Qualifier. Kenya and Ireland must re-qualify for ODI status in that event.
The competition is notional in the sense that it is simply a ranking scheme overlaid on all international matches that are otherwise played as part of regular ODI cricket scheduling. Other non-Test countries with One-Day International status aren’t included in the main table because they are yet to meet the promotion criteria.
In essence, after every ODI match, the two teams involved receive points based on a mathematical formula. The total of each team’s points total is divided by the total number of matches to give a ‘rating’, and all eleven teams are ranked by order of rating (this can be shown in a table).
By analogy to cricket batting averages, the points for winning an ODI match are greater than the team’s rating, increasing the rating, and the points for losing an ODI match are always less than the rating, reducing the rating.
A drawn match between higher and lower rated teams will benefits the lower-rated team at the expense of the higher-rated team. An ‘average’ team that wins as often as it loses while playing a mix of stronger and weaker teams should have a rating of 100.

Chikku Bukku Movie Review – A Deviously Colorful Travelogue
Chikku Bukku is a travelogue for three-fourth of the film – feel good in fact. Starting off with ‘Pixar-like’ Animation for the title credits, Media One Global Entertainment’s and Majestic Multimedia Limited’s ‘Chikku Bukku’ promises colorful picturesque hues.
Soon after the title, a song hips-hop the ‘leadster’ (not the acronym) Arya, whose RJ/DJ profession in London wins him girls – one of his two primary interests – and Facebook – the other.
Young Arya happens to carry his father’s (played by Arya himself) diary when his granny suggests him go to his father’s native place – Karaikudi – to redeem his father’s house from his creditors.
Shriya comes to India from London on a different agenda. As flight schedules get canceled in the Bangalore Airport, they board a train together in the guise of a couple.

From the Horse’s Mouth – Vijay Clarifies on Quitting ’3 idiots’
Vijay, in his own inimitable style, clarifies why he quit from ‘3 idiots’. Calm and composed as always, Vijay answered firmly on why he had to quit.
Refuting reports that the actor quit from the magnificent director Shankar’s remake of ‘3 idiots’ due to alleged disputes on hairdos and costumes, Vijay stated that he quit due to call sheet issues and nothing else.
The actor also said that he had a huge respect for Director Shankar but couldn’t act in his movie since he could not give away his call sheet.
Vijay also said that he would not care much about Media’s predictions and it is the official announcement from the producers that would be ultimately true.
Vijay’s Kaavalan is scheduled to hit the theaters on December 17, 2010 for which there is strong opposition from the Distributors and Theater Owners who want to square up with the actor when the time is ripe.
Distributor Shakthi Chidambaram has vowed to release Kaavalan on December 17 despite all hindrances.

Power Shifts from Kamal Hassan to Udhayanidhi Stalin
Kamal Hassan is one of the most powerful actors in Kollywood. When his movies become a hit, he can make huge collections.
Hence, Kamal Hassan takes his freedom shedding confines set by any producer. However, the all powerful Udhayanidhi Stalin kept things under his control this time.
Udhayanidhi Stalin is said to be in complete charge of production of the movie Manmadhan Ambu where Kamal Hassan took a backseat.
It is said that Kamal Hassan left his dropped Marmayogi out but then reports say that it is Udhayanidhi Stalin who chose Manmadhan Ambu over Marmayogi.
Udhayanidhi Stalin had also set a timeframe for the completion of the movie within which the film was completed and is now scheduled for release.
Kamal Hassan, who has grip on even the distribution of his movies, has foregone his power for the movie to shape up.
Udhayanidhi Stalin wanted a early release of the movie Manmadhan Ambu and with KS Ravikumar’s lightning pace in shooting, it is made possible.
December 17, 2010 is much awaited my movie buffs for the release of Manmadhan Ambu.
